Ternopil State Medical University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Ternopil (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Ternopil Oblast. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ternopil State Medical University (TSMU) is a coeducational higher education institution. Ternopil State Medical University (TSMU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.
Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University ranks first in Ukraine among the higher medical schools of the IVth accreditation level according to the latest rating list of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. More than 1500 international students from 53 countries of the world study at the University. Languages of instruction: Ukrainian, English, Russian. Agreements on cooperation have been signed with universities from 17 countries of the world. 15 years’ experience of teaching medicine in English.
The history of the Faculty of Medicine is closely connected with the history of the University, as the General medicine faculty (later renamed into the Faculty of Medicine) has existed since 1957, that is the year of the University foundation.
Two educational buildings housed the departments at the opening of the faculty. The clinical base was provided by the City Hospital that had been functioning then as the Regional Hospital. Morphological building, Regional Hospital and a new hostel were under construction. 19 departments began functioning at the Institute, 66 teachers were working there (including 1 M.D., and 17 Candidates of Med. Sc.). Standing at the starting line there were young teachers-scientists, later on professors, honoured scientists K.V.Kovanov, Yu.T.Komorovsky, A.I. Lokay, I.O.Sytnyk, M.P.Skakun.
624 students studied at three courses then, 210 being first-year students. 120 second- and 224 third-year students moved voluntarily from medical institutes of Ukraine, Russia and other republics of the former USSR. The Dean’s Office and Departments did their utmost to organize educational and methodical process and to control the level of students’ training.
1960-1961 academic year marked the final stage of the Institute formation. The Morphologic building and the regional polyclinic began functioning. The construction of the Institute principal clinical base, the Regional hospital, was completed. The institute numbered 1360 students and 30 departments with 148 teachers working (7 M.Ds and 66 Candidates of Sciences among them)
All educational programs are regulated and approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The degrees and certificates issued to graduated foreign students by Gosky Edu. Universities are legalized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We only offer recognized University programs by the World Health Organization.
Students from India are eligible to sit for the National Board of Examination (NBE) and register with the Medical Council of India (MCI); after obtaining an “Eligibility Certificate” from the MCI prior to sitting for the Competency test conducted by the NBE and complying with any other guide-lines of the certification authority.
Students and graduates of Gosky Edu. Universities are eligible to sit for the licensure & certification examinations of many other countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, Singapore etc. All students & graduates should educate themselves on the licensure policies in their respective home countries and countries where they propose to practice and prepare accordingly.
Minimum 50% marks in PCB for General Category, others 45%. Minimum Age to apply is 17 years by 31st Dec of the admission year.
NEET Score must be for General Categories – 134 Marks & For Reserved Categories – 107 Marks
University can provide accommodation for students (annual accommodation fee is 500–800 USD per year depending on chosen comfort conditions). Students’ hostels are located closely to principal buildings and clinics of the university – 10–15 min walking distance. Hostels contain everything required for studies, everyday life and recreation: an Internet–club, a library, a canteen with cuisines of different countries, cafes, the laundry, the billiard, gym, satellite TV with access to Indian channels. Students’ relatives can visit them and stay in special rooms for guests, settled in the University.
