Kharkov National Medical University (KNMU) Ukraine is one of the oldest higher educational establishments of Ukraine. It was founded in 1805 as the Medical Faculty of the Kharkov University. Kharkov Medical Institute, Kharkov National Medical University and Kharkov State Medical University are old names of Kharkov National Medical University/KNMU

The Degree (MBBS, BDS, MD, MDS, MS, NURSING) of the Kharkov National Medical University (KNMU) is prestigious and it is recognized in many countries of the world. Among former graduates of the University there are ministers and members of parliaments in various countries, outstanding scientists and famous specialists who founded their own clinics abroad. Within the period of their studies the students undergo academic training in main medical specialties. They take part in examinations of patients, giving urgent aid, work at X-ray rooms, clinical and biochemical laboratories. Particular attention is paid to clinical rounds of patients, their management, filling in and arrangement of case histories with their subsequent analysis. Clinical and theoretical training of the students is performed at 56 departments of the University and the best clinics of Kharkov with use of modern medical diagnostic and therapeutically equipment, computer software of the academic process, a wide use of audio and video aids.

FACTS:

KNMU has become an important centre for international students who need expert teaching . The University is currently training about 5,000 students, among them 900 foreign citizens, and its academic staff consists of more than 630 teachers, including 102 Doctors of Sciences and Professors, 387 Candidates of Medical Science, 32 members of academies, 17 Honored Scientists. Number of teaching/academic staff involved in teaching foreign students: total – 186, among them: doctors of sciences, professors (%) – 12.4; candidates of sciences, assistant professors (%) – 65.6. The training is provided in compliance with the general state syllabuses and curricula approved by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The students learn different subjects from fundamental disciplines to special medical subjects during six years.

Foreigners study in small groups with six to ten other international students. Lectures take place daily and are attended by all students of the groups. Training in the university is constantly controlled by testing the students’ knowledge in each class. At the end of each topic a final control is provided by passing tests and examinations in subjects studied during this term. From the beginning of the second year until the last academic year students attend practical classes to gain experience.

The Program has the European credit point accumulation system ECTS

WHAT IS ECTS?
ECTS guarantees academic recognition of studies abroad.
ECTS enables further studies abroad. A student may prefer not to go back to the home institution after the study period abroad, but rather to stay at the host institution — possibly to gain a degree — or to move to a third institution. The institutions themselves decide whether or not this is acceptable and what conditions the student must fulfil in order to get a diploma or transfer registration.

The final state examination according to the syllabus are held through two stages in the 6th year:

1.Written State Exam
2. Oral and Practical State Exam

The students who passed the final state exams and completed the six academic years will be awarded with the medical degree.

FUTURE OPTIONS:
There is a wide range of specialization available in the public and private sectors, involving research, academic medicine, public health, clinical medicine and other areas. Specialties include Cardiology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Psychological Medicine, Surgery, Pathology, Public Health, General Practice and many others.
Most doctors complete postgraduate training in their chosen specialty Medicine is a respected, rewarding, and truly international career.

Every student studying at KNMU undergoes one year of clinical rotations in subjects such as Internal medicine, paediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology and other additive subjects during their final year of education.

The certificate for the same can be obtained from Ukrainian Medical Council and Envision Overseas helps its students to obtain the same.

The Internship declares any student completing the curriculum as a complete doctor and the same is accepted all over the world except India.

In India a student has to finish his screening test and undergo a compulsory rotator internship in India before he/she gets his permanent registration in Medical Council of India or license to practice as a physician.

PCB percentage should be 60% and above. English marks should 60 and above. Minimum Age to apply is 17 years by 31st Dec of the admission year.
NEET Score must be for General Categories – 134 Marks & For Reserved Categories – 107 Marks

All educational programs are regulated and approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The degrees and certificates issued to graduated foreign students by Gosky Edu. Universities are legalized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We only offer recognized University programs by the World Health Organization.

Students from India are eligible to sit for the National Board of Examination (NBE) and register with the Medical Council of India (MCI); after obtaining an “Eligibility Certificate” from the MCI prior to sitting for the Competency test conducted by the NBE and complying with any other guide-lines of the certification authority.

Students and graduates of Gosky Edu. Universities are eligible to sit for the licensure & certification examinations of many other countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, Singapore etc. All students & graduates should educate themselves on the licensure policies in their respective home countries and countries where they propose to practice and prepare accordingly.

Kharkiv National Medical University has a very good hostel system with fully furnished rooms, quite study environment and surrounded with recreation center.. The International Office provides a guarantee of accommodation placement services to all international students who receive an academic offer. There are several accommodation options for international students and it is important to consider whether you prefer an independent lifestyle or enjoy living in a community. Combine the convenience of living on or near campus, access to programs and services to help you excel academically, the opportunity to build lasting friendships, and comfortable, affordable living and you have the life of a University. The territory of the University and the main students’ routes from the hostels to the educational buildings are protected and patrolled by officers of guard service. All rooms in hostels are provided with internet facility. Rooms on campus are available to students. All hostel rooms are furnished and vary in size and number of conveniences. Dormitory rooms at hostel can accommodate 2 or 3 students to a room. All rooms are equipped with bed, mattress, pillow, blanket, desk, chair, Almira,heating, water system and suitable lighting for both study and relaxation. There are common areas where students can play and mingle. Upon the students arrival on campus, specific accommodations are assigned and after a satisfactory health report the student will be accommodated to the room which is allotted to him.
